Superstar Pets

Black & White Dog With Pink Glasses

Now we all love a good 'pet pic' or funny animal video, but I wonder who are these little fluff balls that actually become the stars of the show? Whilst there are professional pets out there living the high life and keeping their paws busy, my two dopey straggle cats just lick their butts and sleep all day. Trust me, nobody wants to see that!

So I'm introducing my pampered lazy cats to their new furry idols in the hope they acquire some inspiration and aspiration, (It really is like living with two live versions of Garfield).

First up we've got the internet sensation 'Grumpy Cat'

Grumpy Cat On The Beach

Meet Tardar Sauce, she is an American pet celebrity with the World's grumpiest face. I'm pretty sure we've all seen her before, (her expression never changes). Follow her impressive career and see what she gets up to via her ever growing social media accounts. This cat is like my spirit animal... I also have permanent 'bitchy resting face'.

Next up, we've got 'Lil Bub'

Lil Bub Instagram Cat

BUB is one of the most amazing cats on the planet. She was rescued in rural Indiana when she was only a few weeks old and required a lot of special care. Since then BUB has become one of the most famous cats on the planet. She is a published author, a talk show host, the star of an award winning documentary, created Lil BUB's Big FUND for the ASPCA (the first national fund for special needs pets), and has helped raise over $300,000 for animals in need. This little kitty inspires my heart!

Marnie

Marnie The Instagram dog

Marnie is an Instagram Idol. Adopted at an old age, Marnie is now living her best life. Follow her Instagram to keep up to date with her shenanigans. https://www.instagram.com/marniethedog

Bo

Obama's Dog Bo

Bo is known as the 'First Dog', having been adopted by the Obama family. Bo is a celebrity in his own right, he has been featured in top newspapers / magazines and even on TV. Get this dog a manager, he's a global sensation.

Colonel Meow

Colonel Meow With Grumpy Face

Colonel Meow was a male Himalayan–Persian cross-breed cat, who temporarily held the 2014 Guinness world record for the longest fur on a cat (nine inches or about 23 cm). He became an Internet celebrity and was lovingly known by his hundreds of thousands of followers as an "adorable fearsome dictator", a "prodigious Scotch drinker" and "the angriest cat in the world"... This was until he met his match in Grumpy Cat!

Terry

Terry The Famous Movie Dog

Terry was a female Cairn Terrier performer who appeared in 16 different movies, most famously as Toto in the film The Wizard of Oz. She did all of her own stunts, and even broke her paw when filming the award winning film. This talented dog earned an impressive salary, attended movie premiers and hung out with Hollywood stars... Now that's my kind of dog!

Laika

First space Dog Laika

Laika was a Soviet space dog who became one of the first animals in space, and the first animal to orbit the Earth. Unfortunately, this outer World experiment cost Laika her life. A small monument in her honour was built near the military research facility in Moscow that prepared Laika's flight to space.

Wheely Willy

Wheely Willy Famous Dog

Wheely Willy was a paraplegic chihuahua from Long Beach, California who was found abandoned in a cardboard box with spinal injuries and a cut throat. Willy was adopted and went on to become a celebrity as the subject of two bestselling children's books. He made frequent public appearances promoting mutual understanding among those with and without physical disability. Following appearances on the Animal Planet television network, he was popularly dubbed Wheely Willy.

Rigel

Rigel Heroic Dog Titanic Hero

Rigel was a large black Newfoundland dog who was said to have saved some of the survivors of the sinking of the RMS Titanic. When RMS Carpathia arrived on the scene looking for survivors, Rigel began to bark. A lifeboat had drifted under the bows of the Carpathia, and was at risk of being run down, but the people in the boat were too exhausted to make themselves heard. Rigel's barks alerted Captain Arthur Rostron, who ordered the engines stopped and began the search for survivors. Everyone in the lifeboat was saved, and Rigel was pulled from the icy water after three hours, unaffected by the experience.

Now there are rumours of Rigel never having existed but, we love a good pup tale so true or not, we'll believe in Rigel until proven otherwise.

These animals are incredible and inspirational, so allow a little furry friend to perk up your day and until next time... Stay wicked Folks!
